The Texas Army National Guard gives you the opportunity to serve your country and your community. As a National Guard Soldier you are Texas’s military first responders. Our primary mission is local response to natural disasters and state emergencies, but we may be called upon to support Army missions around the world. JOB TRAINING

When you join the Texas Army National Guard you will receive paid hands-on job training and develop leadership skills that will make you extremely marketable in today’s work force. National Guard Soldiers work in a multitude of career fields including: music, Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Medical, Military Police, Helicopter repair, Logistics, Human Resources, Legal, Intelligence Analysis, Electronic Repair, Communications, Diesel Mechanics, culinary arts, Truck Driving, weapons repair, construction equipment operator, and more. Looking to challenge yourself mentally and physically? The Texas Army National Guard has several options for you. We have M1A1 Abrams Tanks, Black Hawk & Chinook Helicopters, Infantrymen, Cavalry scouts, Mortarmen, Stryker’s, Artillery Cannons, Bradley fighting Vehicles, Military Police training, Army Infantry Sniper training, Air Assault training and more. Learn about explosives with the Combat Engineers. We also do search & rescue and counterdrug operations in coordination with the state and local authorities.
